What’s the Score?

The Global Sports Pickleball League is heating up in India, with Day 3 action reshaping the leaderboards in both the Pro and Challenger divisions. The Jaipur Stallions emerged as the dominant force of the day, securing decisive 3–1 victories over both the Mumbai Chhatrapati Warriors and the Kolkata Kingz. In contrast, the Hyderabad Vikings endured a grueling day of mixed results, winning a nail-biter against Bengaluru before suffering a heartbreaking tiebreaker loss to the Nashik Ninjas.

Hit it deeper!

Day 3 was defined by the Jaipur Stallions’ clinical execution. In their matchup against the Mumbai Chhatrapati Warriors, Sahra Dennehy was the catalyst, winning her singles match 21–14. She then paired with Kusuma to take the women’s doubles 21–16. The mixed doubles team of Patel and Kusuma sealed the tie with a 21–18 win. Mumbai’s only resistance came in men’s doubles, preventing a total whitewash.

Jaipur carried this momentum into their second tie against the Kolkata Kingz. Aditya Ruhela set the tone with a tight 21–19 singles victory. Although Kolkata managed to win the mixed doubles decisively (21–10), Jaipur’s men’s doubles pair of Yang and Munro slammed the door shut with a dominant 21–11 performance, securing another 3–1 overall victory for the Stallions.

For the Hyderabad Vikings, the day was a test of nerves. Their clash with the Bengaluru Blazers was a “pulsating tie” that went the distance. After trading blows across four matches, the contest was decided by a single point in the tiebreaker, with Hyderabad prevailing 25–24. However, they couldn’t replicate that magic in their next match against the Nashik Ninjas. Once again forced into a decider, the Vikings fell short, losing the tiebreaker 21–17. Despite the Pro Division heartbreak, the Vikings found solace in the Challenger Division, where they remain unbeaten atop Group A.

The World Pickleball Verdict

The Global Sports Pickleball League is showcasing the volatility of the team format, where a single point in a tiebreaker can swing the momentum of an entire season. The Jaipur Stallions are proving that depth—specifically the ability to win across singles, gender doubles, and mixed doubles—is the only path to consistency.

For Hyderabad, the day was a lesson in the cruelty of “sudden death” scoring; winning by one point and losing by four shows how thin the margins are at the professional level. As the league progresses, the ability to perform under the extreme pressure of a tiebreaker (as seen with Nashik and Hyderabad) will likely determine the eventual champions.
