February 2026 marked a pivotal turning point for the Pakistan Pickleball Federation (PPF). In a month defined by substantive progress, the PPF advanced three strategic pillars simultaneously: international alignment, competition delivery, and institutional strengthening. Through the integration of global rating systems and the delivery of high-level national competition, Pakistan is positioning itself to capitalise on domestic interest while meeting rigorous global governance standards.
The Data Revolution: Official DUPR Integration
A cornerstone of the federation’s recent success is the official registration with DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating). This integration serves as a strategic enabler for Pakistan’s competitive ecosystem, ensuring that Pakistani players now appear on a global platform.
The move provides immediate benefits for the sport’s integrity in Pakistan:
- Objective Ratings: Match-based ratings now offer impartial, data-driven rankings to inform fair seeding and selection.
- Talent Identification: Coaches and selectors can now utilise quantitative data to identify rising stars and measure athlete progress.
- Tournament Integrity: The integration reduces seeding disputes and boosts the credibility of provincial and national events.
To facilitate this transition, the federation has launched the PPF DUPR Club, a centralised portal for club registration and match submission. Players and tournament directors are encouraged to register immediately to ensure official rating accrual.
UCP Taakra: A Blueprint for National Competition
Putting these new systems to the test, the PPF proudly delivered the UCP Taakra in February, a marquee national championship showcase. The event functioned not only as a competition but as a “blueprint” for future championships, combining athlete performance with technical delivery and media engagement.
The tournament featured the full deployment of DUPR match reporting, providing participants with immediate rating updates. With robust officiating protocols and broad participation across senior and junior divisions, the event showcased the depth of Pakistan’s talent pipeline and demonstrated the federation’s readiness to meet international standards.
Strengthening Governance and Visibility
Beyond the court, the PPF has intensified its governance work to align with national and international expectations. February saw the consolidation of the federation’s strategic plan, the refinement of internal operational manuals, and the scheduling of certification clinics to professionalise the technical workforce of referees and coaches.
This structured approach has generated high-impact media coverage, including a feature on Times Now, which highlighted the PPF’s development model. These media placements are critical for strengthening credibility with government stakeholders, provincial partners, and potential sponsors.
A Message from the President
Reflecting on the month’s achievements, Rana Fakhar Saeed, President of the Pakistan Pickleball Federation, emphasised the shift from visibility to sustainability:
“February demonstrates the scale and direction of our federation’s ambitions. With DUPR integration, a successful national championship, and international media attention, we have concrete proof that Pakistan’s pickleball programme is both competitive and credible. Our priority now is to convert visibility into sustainable structures—coaching pathways, certified officials, and provincial networks that benefit athletes across the country”.
Looking Ahead
The PPF is now focused on the nationwide onboarding of DUPR for clubs and organisers, publishing official rankings from the UCP Taakra, and formalising provincial structures in Sindh and Punjab. As the federation moves sponsorship discussions toward agreements, the message to the global pickleball community is clear: Pakistan is open for business, and its athletes are ready for the world stage.
